What Would You Do If You Started Over In Business Today
Today’s episode is inspired by a conversation I had on Instagram a couple weeks ago. The question I got was, “I want to ask you something. I’m wanting to be successful with this digital marketing space, but I’m struggling. All this chaos in my life, plus being newer to the space and this particular kind of marketing has been challenging. I’m terminating to make it work, but I’ve never been confident in my offer or niche. All I know is I want to be a positive light to others. But I’m curious, what would you do if you had to start over? Where would you start?”

What Would You Do If You Had to Start Over?
Today we’re answering the question, what would you do if you had to start over? Where would you start when you’re building an online business? This was an interesting question to answer because there’s been a lot of reflection and acknowledgment over the last twelve, definitely this year, but we’ll say 12-18 months for me and seeing some of those things that have transpired in different light. So it’s almost hard to say, like, what would you do differently if you had to start over?
No Mistakes, Just Lessons
All the things that happened have brought me to the path where I’m at now. Choices that I made, if they weren’t there, then it’s almost irrelevant. Like, you’re at where you’re at. You’re at the space that you’re supposed to be in, and it’s just moving forward.
Working on Yourself
The first thing would be working on me more. I spent years. Working on having that well-rounded approach and not being so obsessed, so focused on, you know, I just have to hit this. I just have to make ten k months in my business. I just have to do this. And that’s, like, the only thing that matters. We put, like, the blinders on, so we’re not focused on taking care of ourselves.
Take Care of Your Health
I said that. I can distinctly remember saying, like, okay, I just don’t have time to take care of my health right now. Once I hit this income goal, like, it’ll be fine. I’ll be able to prioritize it. I’ll be able to do more.
What Really Matters?
But if I had to start over, this is where I would start. Like, it’s not the obsession with the making money in your business. That part I would do away with knowing that I’m doing the work that I need to do because I know I need to do it, and taking the steps and doing all of the things that I know will create the income. Not sacrificing myself, not being so obsessed with the income goal.
Human Design
The second part of that is human design. I’ve really dived into human design. And there’s a way, before we like you to me out, there’s a way to do this. It’s nothing. I use this as a tool to understand myself. It’s about empowering and understanding yourself and understanding where things are showing up.
What Are Gates?
I was having a conversation yesterday about one of the gates that I have defined. So if you have a gate defined, that means that you constantly have that energy, that available. There’s a gift side of the gate and a shadow side of the gate. The shadow side of this specific gate is not enough. This shows up for me a lot.
Understanding Yourself Better
Working on the deconditioning. And we’re doing all of those things. If this is like, okay, you’re speaking Greek, Aimee, I need more information. This has been, I don’t know if I want to say life changing, but basically life changing because it helps you feel seen when you’re understood in this deep of a manner.
Knowing Your Strengths
Understanding my human design and seeing my strengths there was super empowering to help remove some of those shoulds.
Three Key Things for Online Business
The last part that I wanted to make sure that we touched on, if I had to start over, where would I start? We need to have three key things. We have to be able to have ways to grow our audience. We have to have a way to nurture our audience. And we have to have a way to sell our audience.
Communicating with Your Audience
We need to have a way to have your voice be heard. You have to be able to do that. So whether it’s Instagram, Instagram lives, Facebook lives, whatever you want it to be. For me, that’s the podcast. Having a place where your voice is heard so that you can consistently share.
Different Ways for Growth
Then having a way that you grow your audience. It could be bundles, podcast guesting, Facebook ads, organic conversations, social media, or in person. Email, social media, all of those things are nurturing. And then of course selling, like are you selling to your audience? Does your audience have a way to buy from you?
Not Feeling Pressure
Ideally they have a way to buy from you. Like now they don’t have to wait. My caveat here, with the growing, nurturing, selling to your audience, it doesn’t have to be, you know, the cookie cutter. It doesn’t have to look like anything specific. This is your business.
Finding What Works
It’s about finding the thing that works for you. There’s a balance between getting out of your comfort zone and something that doesn’t feel in alignment. And you can feel that.
