Yes, we shifted some of those things with our business, but how do you feel good about the balance? That’s what we’re going to talk about today. Here we go.

Episodes here on the podcast are short and sweet. Being married, having four kids at home, homeschooling, being the CEO, and running the household, I’m kind of busy. And I know you are too. So let’s keep it simple and get to the point. Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome back to another episode of the Your Money Your Life podcast. I’m your host, Aimee Cerka. Today, we are talking about the elusive word “balance.”

What is Balance?

There’s so many times that we hear, “I just want to achieve balance, I want to feel good about this.” And there’s going to be a segment where we talk about your money. Next week, we’ll get into making sure your money system works and shows you results. But for now, let’s talk about balance from an energy side and how to achieve that balance to feel good. With the lens of summer, your business, and feeling good and authentic about it. Because when we can actually achieve that, it’s going to make a lot of sense.

Balance: Is It Achievable?

So first, let’s start with what balance is and if balance is something that’s even achievable. When people say balance, we often think of a scale, like spending 50% of the time on business and 50% of the time with kids and family. For me, that’s not really balance. Balance isn’t about having everything even; it’s about what balance feels right for you.

Understanding Priorities

If I ask what your priorities are, you’ll probably say your faith, family, friends, and maybe work. As entrepreneurs, we love what we do, but that doesn’t mean we want to spend all our time on it. Balance is about what feels good and aligned.

Getting in the Zone

I often get in the zone and work a lot. Even yesterday, I set a timer to make myself take breaks, and I was shocked at how fast the timer went off. Balance isn’t about equal time. It’s about what feels good and aligned.

Different Levels of Balance

As a mom, CEO, and homeschooler, there are different levels of balance. Sometimes being with my kids and having the business run on autopilot is important. Other times, I want to be in the business. Prioritizing what needs to be done and letting go of the fluff is crucial for achieving balance.

Big Rocks First

To achieve balance, start with the big rocks—the things that need to happen. Focus on needle movers and the things that produce results. When you do these things first, you can feel balanced and guilt-free when you want to be with your kids.

Human Design

I’ve been leaning a lot into human design recently. It affects how we show up and our thought processes. If you’re always telling yourself you’re not doing enough, we need to work on that. Balance isn’t about perfect 50/50; it’s about feeling aligned, confident, and unstoppable.

Working on Mindset

A lot of work inside Money Mastery Academy is on thoughts, feelings, and emotions. To achieve balance, we need to work on mindset. Even if you’re avoiding finances because you don’t want to see where things are at, it goes back to mindset.

Embracing Balance

To achieve balance, take care of what needs to be done first. Prioritize work that helps you feel balanced. Balance is not about having everything even but feeling aligned and confident in the season you’re in.

Different Seasons

Balance can change from day to day, week to week, month to month, and even year to year. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s about leaning into what works well for you.

Saying No

Another example of balance is feeling guilt-free about saying no to things that don’t work for you. Networking calls don’t work for me, and it took time to feel confident saying no. Achieving balance is about feeling confident in what works for you.

Working Ahead

Working a week or two ahead helps me balance time with my kids and family. If something comes up, we’re prepared, and I don’t feel like I’m on a deadline. Working ahead allows for spontaneity and balance.

Feeling Present

The goal of balance is to feel present where you’re at. When you can focus on what you’re doing without worrying about other things, you achieve balance. That’s the balance we want to achieve—peace, joy, confidence, and feeling unstoppable.

Wrap-Up

That’s what I’ve got for today. Send me a message on Instagram. Let me know if this is helpful. If we’re not connected, follow me, and I’ll follow you back. You can see all the fun with the kids. That’s it for now. We’ll see you next time.
