Before we dive into that though wanted to quickly introduce myself if we’ve never met before. Hi, my name is Aimee Cerka super excited that you are joining us here today.

When I’ve talked to women and we’re talking about their finances, people are talking about their financial goals. A lot of people say that they want to be rich. But what does rich really mean and what are they really looking for?

I pulled up the definition of rich hear me read it for you real quick. Rich is having an abundance of possessions, especially material wealth.

If you have a lot of stuff. When you are making a higher income typically what people are looking for they want to increase their income so they have more income, so they can be rich. But most the time that is not really what the goal is…

What most people are actually looking for is financial security.

And what financial security actually means is that you are secure in your finances. So if something happens, something comes up, you lose your job, somebody gets sick or hospitalized, something like that happens, a disaster of some sort comes up.

That you are secure in your finances that you’re able to be taken care of. So when you’re financially secure. If something happens and you lost your job, you don’t have to worry about losing your car because you know you’re not just barely hanging on with that car payment living paycheck to paycheck dreading that payment every single month, struggling to pay that.

So if something happened and you lost your income, you would lose the car.

How many of you would you lose the house, if something happened because you don’t have that security in your finances, that you’re able to take care of. Do you have an emergency fund if something comes up?

Food increase. I know a lot of people are seeing that especially in different areas of the country and I believe around the world, different food shortages have increased the price.

And are you able to comfortably, take care of that, and still provide and put food on the table for your family? Even though something has happened. That can be a small thing like I know eggs for us is one of the main ones that went up.

We’re really craving that security we want to make sure you know that we, especially as women, we like to be taken care of. We like to have that security, but I know that men like to be able to take care of our family too so I mean it’s something that we’re all looking for.

We’re really craving that financial security.

So instead of focusing and meditating on the fact that you want to be rich, you want to increase your income so that you can buy a lot of stuff. Let’s focus on creating security in our life. Let’s create financial security so that you have that assurance that if something happens you know that you can still take care of your family that you have that flexibility in those options that you’re truly looking for, and you’re going to be that much more at peace there’s going to be less stress it’s going to do so much for you and an overall health picture when you create that financial security versus just being rich and increasing your income and having more stuff.

Most of the time when you just increase your income and buying more stuff you are financing those purchases, you’ve got payments. It’s not going to create that security, and it ends up leading to more stress and especially when you increase your income like that, the banks will give you that much more money so you have that much more potential to get farther away from that financial security spot.
