Why Waiting for the Perfect Financial Moment Keeps You Stuck – Money Simplified Podcast with Aimee Cerka

Breaking Free from the “Someday” Trap

Have you ever caught yourself saying, once I hit that next income goal, then I’ll finally be able to get help? Or maybe it sounds like, once I figure out this one thing, then I’ll be able to outsource, then I’ll be able to buy this program. But here’s the thing: that someday never really comes, does it?

You’ll hit this milestone, but there’s always another one. And maybe you haven’t hit that milestone yet. There’s another expense, another fire to put out, another reason why now isn’t the right time.

If you’ve been caught in that cycle, this transcription is for you. Today, we’re talking about what’s really going on subconsciously, behind the scenes, when that help feels out of reach, why waiting until you arrive only keeps you stuck, and how to shift into a place where support becomes available to you right now, not just in the future.

Understanding the Cycle of Waiting for Financial Help

This is Money Simplified, the podcast where I help female entrepreneurs go from stress and struggle to unstoppable with money. Money is more than just budgeting and PNLs, and we’re going to take you through all of it here.

We blend proven financial strategy with mindset work and energetic alignment so you can create unstoppable finances, build an unstoppable business, and truly enjoy your unstoppable life. It’s time to take my wisdom, my expertise, to help you simplify money and go beyond the numbers.

Welcome. I’m Aimee Cerka and I’m so glad you’re here.

What Happens When You Wait for the Right Time

Today, we’re breaking down the desires that are really underneath that “I’ll wait till I can get help” thinking. The misconceptions you keep believing that are delaying things for you, the actions you might be taking that are keeping you stuck, and, of course, we’ll talk about how to reframe it all.

I’ll show you a couple of solutions and how you can have that path forward and get help now—not until you have this “woohoo, I’ve arrived” moment. That newsflash doesn’t really ever show up.

Why Money Goals Are Actually About Fulfillment

At the heart of it, right when we look at it, it’s not just this income milestone that we’re looking at. One of the most popular episodes I’ve ever done is called “It’s Not About the Money.” Because it’s not really about the money. It’s what the money can do for you.

And that’s where we work on changing how we feel about money. Taking the fear out of it, the guilt, the shame—so it’s a tool in your pocket. You have this thing that works with you; it’s not this monster you’re running away from.

So, it’s not about hitting this income goal. It’s about the breathing room that you can have, being able to take your kids on ice cream runs or to Chick Fil A, or whatever it might be, and feel okay. You want to feel like everything, the weight of the world, is not on your shoulders all the time.

The Real Reason Behind Wanting Financial Goals

We want the peace, we want the clarity and that sense of momentum, fulfillment—where you know, like, you’ve actually done it, you’ve built the thing, like that success is there.

Support, and the right kind of support, is what helps you have that breathing room. You don’t have to wait until you have it, but there are ways—you don’t have to earn it.

The waiting, like “I’m not there yet, I’m not there yet,” gets you stuck.

The Hidden Cost of Doing It All Yourself

If we’re saying things like, “Once I make the money, then I’ll be able to get help,” we can also be saying, “Getting help before I’ve hit the income is irresponsible.” I need to prove I can do this on my own first. I hear that all the time with bookkeeping, because it’s not rocket science.

It sounds easy, but it’s not necessarily your zone of genius. Even though I offer bookkeeping coaching and teach you how to do your books yourself, if you are not ready to hand it off—and I love doing that because if you’re not going to hand it off, I want you to at least do it—there are so many times that I see we’ve worked on this so you can do it yourself, but it’s holding you back because you’re spending five, seven hours a month or at the end of the year, and you might not even be in your accounting software that much.

We’ll say, like, QuickBooks. You might not be in the software that much, but the brain space that it takes up or the avoidance, right?

Why DIY Thinking Holds You Back Financially

If you’re not doing it monthly, then you gotta catch it up at some point, and then there are mistakes that cost you money. You’re missing out on deductions. So many different things show up. But that “I have to do it on my own first” or “I should be able to do it myself because this is easy”—that’s the waiting.

That sneaky thought pattern, that you should be able to do this thing, actually sabotages you. So what happens? You work harder, hustling, trying to out-earn the problem, putting off decisions until later, telling yourself, “I’ll figure this out, I’ll get support, I’ll do these things when I get there.”

You’ll piece together a YouTube strategy, an Instagram strategy, email—whatever, the bookkeeping again, budgeting. So many different things we can pull up, right? And all of this reinforces the belief that “I can’t have help with this until I hit this thing,” or “I can’t buy into this program until I hit this income goal.”

The Subconscious Mindset That Sabotages Progress

But in the meantime, we’re not escaping the same stress, the same patterns, the same money beliefs that you’ve been carrying around for forever. This feels almost like you wait to start drinking water until after you’ve already run the marathon.

By the time you get there, like, you’re exhausted. Even if you can make it through a marathon without drinking water, your body’s in survival mode. As somebody who’s been working a lot on nervous center regulation, there was an analogy that came up recently.

Your nervous system feels like you’re being chased by a cheetah right now. Being chased by a cheetah, and you’ve got to go, go, go. You gotta go do the things. That’s one of the things I see the most with entrepreneurs; I know that’s the one I relate to the most, so here we go with it, right?

When Your Mindset Keeps You in Survival Mode

You’re being chased by a cheetah, but then you find that somebody’s like, “You should do meditation.” You’re being chased by a cheetah. Like, sitting down and doing a meditation right now is not happening because you’re gonna die.

That’s all there is to it, right? You can’t physically handle that because you’re running away. We have to have support along the way. Meditation, journaling, so many of those different exercises, so many of the things that I talk about—so many of these different money habits—are amazing. They work. Like, we need to do these things. But the thing is, you got to be able to do them.

Moving From Logical Knowing to Embodied Belief

And if the cheetah is chasing you, you’re still doing the same habit. Like, you can’t stop and do that. This is where we take it from logical knowing, then there’s a belief.

Okay, so we’ve got logical knowing; you can logically know what to do. And then the belief part: you believe that it’s true, but even if you believe that it’s true, the voice in the back of your head is like, “There is still a cheetah chasing me.” Or, “Yeah, right, that won’t work for you. You’ve tried this before.”

Then there’s a third level: that embodiment. And if you’re watching on YouTube, it’s layers, and the layers are going down because it’s like that sense that you know in your gut, it’s not head knowledge. It’s moving beyond that. This is why so many entrepreneurs, I think, end up burning out and quitting.

Why Believing You Deserve Help Now Changes Everything

We know statistically that 50% turn over. The updated statistic is—I looked at this recently—50% quit within five years. And I see this all the time. As many podcast interviews, summits, guest experiences, appearances, so many things.

I’ve got a lot of them, and I’m going to say a lot because I think I’ve missed some linked on my website. But when I do my quarterly check on my website or bad links or whatever, without fail, every single time, some of the links are no longer valid because people have quit. They’ve walked away.

Real Stories: When Support Makes the Difference

And I don’t know that you walk away from entrepreneurship, you don’t walk away from your business. I’m sure there’s some people who are like, “Okay, yeah, that wasn’t for me. I didn’t really want that.” But how many walked away because they didn’t feel like they succeeded, and it felt like they had no choice?

This waiting to get help until you arrive, when we keep moving the line on ourselves, makes it way harder than we need to. Using the marathon analogy, like, trying to think of what would slow you down in a marathon—you’d be crawling, maybe.

When you get support while doing the marathon, you’re going to finish the marathon that much faster. And it feels so, at a point, out of reach. I totally understand that, and I’m going to give you a solution in just a second.*

The Turning Point: Getting Help Before “Arriving”

But this “it’s gotta wait” thing is sabotaging you. I had a discovery call with a potential client recently. We were talking, and I know that I hear this quite frequently because I love the unstoppable experience container that I have.

It’s a 12-month group mentorship program because you have everything. But I know, I know, that not everybody is ready for the unstoppable experience yet. And I say yet because I believe that there is a large majority of those people that, like, it’s going to be the right time at some point. And I believe that you’ll enroll in the unstoppable experience when it is that right time.

How to Take Action and Find Clarity Now

But just because you’re not ready for the unstoppable experience doesn’t mean you can’t have support. And this call that I was on recently with a potential client—we had a discovery call session. We were talking about private coaching and the way I structure things.

Truly, we design the package—the amount of support that you have around where you need to be right now with your budget. I don’t have just the standalone, like, “It’s X price” or “It’s X price”—that’s not how I operate, because I know that support is valuable.

If it’s once a month that we’re working together, then it’s once a month that we’re working together. But you’re still having the value in that. It’s still important and you can get support now.

Money Clarity Audit: The Simplest First Step

The truth is, help isn’t something you have to earn. It’s not a reward for finally arriving. Help is something that you have to allow now and be open to it. This is the key here.

Because if you believe you can’t have it right now, that it’s somewhere you have to get to—it’s not going to work. And that’s the problem. The problem is you have to believe it’s possible now.

I think I shared this story on the podcast, but I had a program that’s been on my list to invest in for probably about a year. It felt out of reach. I went ahead and I was like, okay, well, I’m going to go through the motions because I believe this is going to show up, so like, getting clear. I had a clarity call with that coach to know, like, what tier of the program was right for me, where I am at in my business, etc.

Conclusion: Allowing Support Today Changes Everything

I didn’t think it would be now, but I’m going through the motions so that I’m ready when the funds for this show up. Notice we’re not spending things way out of reach—that’s not what I’m talking about. There can be a stretch, but there can be too much.

Again, staying busy as an avoidance technique—we’re going to get to that in a couple of weeks. It’s going to be a really good episode. But I went through the process of, like, “okay, this is what I’m expecting.”

Two days later, the income showed up. Or the money showed up to pay for the program. Would that have happened if I hadn’t done the call? I don’t know. But I went through the motions and I was ready on my part. The belief that it’s going to show up, that it’s going to work out, that you can have help now—you have to be open to the possibility and believe that it’s going to work for you, that you can have these things now. That it’s not something you have to get to eventually.

Because when you can have support now, before you arrive—and I also don’t think we ever really “arrive”—we stop delaying our results because we’re putting it off. Right?

So, I’d love to hear: what’s an area that you’ve been wanting support with and it’s felt out of reach? Is it something with the numbers? Because if so, if you’ve been telling yourself, “Okay, I’ll get to that point later. I’ll join the unstoppable experience later. I’ll outsource my bookkeeping later,” I want to invite you to take a very simple first step now.

I’ve got a brand new offer I’m really excited about called the Money Clarity Audit. What you’re going to get is a personalized video—I’ll record a video for you of your finances. I’ll walk you through what’s working, what’s keeping you stuck, and the best next move for you to move forward with confidence and not get stuck. The goal of this is to get rid of guessing, to get rid of the waiting until you arrive before you can have support—because I want you to. And there’s not really an “arrive,” right? I want you to arrive faster.

It’s a shortcut to clarity right where you are today. You can grab the Money Clarity Audit at https://aimeecerka.com/clarity. It’s only $44. So, we can go two different directions. We can go tactical numbers—you can share numbers with me. We can share QuickBooks. I can check those things. So, if you’re somebody who’s doing your books by yourself right now and you need to keep doing that but would love to know you’re actually on track, this is perfect for that.

If you’re also like, “I don’t know that I want to actually share my numbers right now, but this is where I’m feeling stuck,” we’re going to talk through that as well. You’ve got options. This is about getting you clear where you feel stuck in your finances. And when you share that, I can help you uncover some of the blind spots that are holding you back. We’re going to get you clarity and fast results. It’s only $44.
