What Categories Must Your Holiday Budget Need

After over 10 years in the personal finance industry, and multiple personal financial and medical crisis, I was fed up with the lies that are being shouted from the rooftops, by the Gurus and the media. So now I make money simple so that you have the confidence that you need to, to handle the money thing without sacrificing your lifestyle. If you’re a female entrepreneur who wants to make more money and are ready to eliminate fear, stress, struggle, frustration and guilt, from your finances, in all the areas that they affect. You’re in the right place.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
Would you have a holiday budget this year? If not, this post holiday debrief is exactly what you need. Because you’ve made it you made it through the holidays. Congratulations.
The Holiday Budget Dilemma
But what can you do to prepare for 2024 because not having a holiday budget is super stressful. That’s what we’re going to talk about. And we’re going to keep it simple, because we haven’t met before.
My name is Aimee Cerka. I’m your go to money confidence coach for making money simple with straight to the point strategies all so that you can make more money in less time. So as female entrepreneurs, I know you are busy.
And you like the idea, like theoretical idea about having like a holiday budget, you don’t want it to limit you. But like just buying stuff spending, that’s a little stressful because you don’t know what you have what you can do, right? So there’s really simple things that you can do right now, to help you prepare for next year, to be a stress free holiday season, you’re ready.
Reflecting on Your Expenses
Look at your expenses, what did you spend this year, we’re going to break it down into three categories. But the best way to look at your expenses is to have a tool in place, the one that I use, and I recommend to all my cleanup clients is YNAB. You need a budget YNAB. I’ll put a link or actually just drop YNAB below if you want a link to check it out. But an affiliate link for you, it gives you a free 32 day trial, I think it is.
Unveiling the Three Key Spending Categories
But have something use systems use tools to make your life easier. So once you know what you spent, we need to break it down into three categories, ready? Decorations, gifts, activities.
So decorations, pretty self explanatory the things that you use to decorate around gifts, the things that you gave to people, and then activities kind of becomes everything else. So whether it is like you go do this one super fun thing, maybe it’s like a downtown experience. Maybe you go through driving through lights, and you always get dinner afterwards, maybe you went to this cool ice thing.
I’m thinking of all the things that we’ve done and are going to do, maybe you take a road trip, maybe you travel, those are all activities. So just break it down into those three categories.
Pro Tips for Monthly Planning
Okay, if you travel, make sure like that’s included as well. But at a minimum, you know what to plan for for next year, your pro step is going to be to take the total divided by 12. And then you know how much every single month you need to put into a targeted savings account, which I’ll talk about how to make your savings account work for you next week.
So if you haven’t already, make sure to subscribe, follow wherever you’re seeing this video at like, you know, do the things that way. Like to make that savings account actually work for you. I’ve got a post up really simple. We’ll talk about that next week.
November is the Time to Plan Ahead
But now you know what to do, like as simple as look at what you’ve already done this year. Because now is the time to plan ahead like November, not the time to plan for the holidays. Now, it’s a great time because you at least have a plan will it go perfect? Probably not.
That’s what money coaching is for right? If you want some support on that drop support below. We’ll chat on how I can help you finally figure out the money thing because 2024 is your year to finally figure out the money thing. Alright, that’s what I got for now. We’ll see you next time.
