Simplifying Your Path to Making Money
You just make it easier to make money, Aimee? Right? Like, just simplify it, please.
Well, I have a couple strategies on that. I do feel like client acquisition is one of the harder things that we have to do in our business. But today, let’s talk about a critical topic that we all have to do as business owners, entrepreneurs, marketing, and how to market your business of effectively. I’m going to break down some fundamental strategies and like a simplified approach to help you and your business thrive so you can make more money in a simple way. All right, here we go.

The Importance of Effective Marketing
Welcome back to another episode, let’s talk about how to keep marketing your business simple. Okay, so we all have to market, right, we have to have effective marketing to be able to attract customers, even if you have a referral business, your marketing’s in place so that you and your referrals come to check you out.
Like, you know, it looks like the doors are open for business, right? Of course, marketing helps like with your brand awareness, and like making sales and all other things. Okay. But it doesn’t have to be complicated. I find it oftentimes we overcomplicate this, myself included, I’ve got my hands up.
Know Your Target Audience
So of course, the first thing that we need to do to be able to effectively market our business and keep it simple, is knowing your target audience and your messaging and all those things. Okay. I’m not really going to go into that today. Because I feel like that is something that we have to constantly be working on and constantly tweaking.
So, like, that’s the thing that’s like ongoing. So, if you’re waiting to get it perfect before you try anything with us, the only caveat there I want you to be aware of like,
There was somebody and one of the groups that I’m a part of that was like, Okay, I’m thinking about starting a podcast, but like, I don’t know, if I have my target audience, right. Okay, like, just get started. Because most of us are pretty close, we might make gradual shifts in like your target market.
And if you’re listening, you’ve probably have heard me shifting slightly, and like who I’m calling out that I’m speaking to, right. But it’s basically been the same personal long, it’s just tweaking my delivery of that in my awareness of who that person is. And then of course, the market is constantly evolving.
Streamline Your Marketing
So, I feel like our messaging is as well. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, the next thing that most of us think of is like our sales strategy, and like we have to be doing all the things right. Because you know, somebody’s doing this now.
So, we have to go chase that shiny object. And then we’ve got to add that in and now there’s new platform and are you on threads, but like are you on TikTok? And all of these different things, right? You don’t have to be everywhere at once, we can have a streamlined simplified process.
What’s Working Right Now?
So, to keep marketing simple, I want you to look at what’s working right now.
Now, if you’re in a place that like I just need sales, I feel like your target market and your messaging and some of those things, we just need to be able to talk to more people. It there’s a little bit of a shift there.
And actually, I’ve just updated Cashflow Unlocked as of the time of this recording, to focus in a little bit more on that because that was part I needed to explain it better inside Cashflow Unlocked. So, if you haven’t checked out that workshop, I’ll put a link for that in the show notes for you.
But you don’t have to be all places at once.
Okay, so like we need to talk to people and that can be one level of awareness but like you’re marketing on an ongoing basis. You don’t have to do all the things we need to find the things that work, and keep doing more of those. So, if you’re sitting there and posting all the time, in one place, and like it’s not getting any traction, it’s never gotten you any clients there.
And it’s just a massive time stuck. That’s not keeping it simple.
Track Your Success
When it comes to marketing your business, there’s different levels of awareness, and we have to train ourselves to look at, okay, what’s working. But in order to know what’s working, we have to know where our clients have come from, and how they got to know us.
Was it somebody that was on LinkedIn that was falling knew a while and saw their content consistently?
Well, you only don’t have to necessarily post on there as much as you might somewhere else. Or maybe TikTok is working really well for you, or Instagram. But if Instagram was working, is it posting on the theme?
Is it having those DM conversations? Is it your stories, because your posting isn’t necessarily like we need to have the presence right, or having the social media presence was what most of us think of when we’re marketing our business.
Email Marketing Matters
And I would also argue that your email list is probably like one of the most important things that you have. And then we could talk about like, ads and all those things. Okay. But your social media, yes, we need to have some presence so that like, hey, you know, doors are open and some of those things, but you don’t have to be posting necessarily as much like you can. It can work for you.
But again, it goes back to knowing what’s working. So, to keep it simple, I want you to look at your numbers. What are you doing? They got you the last five clients that you had? And how did they find you? How did they get to know you? How did they learn to trust you? And did more of that, like do more of the thing that actually works?
As much as I love reels. I know, reels aren’t necessarily the one that gets me clients send even really a growth strategy either to get like more eyeballs on you. So, I’ve done loss reels. So, look at your numbers.
And I want to hear this is the part I want you to send me your challenge for those have been for a while. I haven’t even like spoken that out your challenge today. I want to hear where your last five clients came from.
Because I want you to know, I want you to look that up and see some of those things.
We talk a little bit like about social media and the you don’t have to be on all the platforms. Pinterest used to be a huge traffic driver for me. It’s not anymore.
Does that mean Pinterest is broken? No, it just means I’m not putting my time there. Currently, if you have somebody on your team, that’s an assistant and can help like with repurposing content, maybe forget your main platforms. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a couple.
So, for me, Instagram is the social platform that I drive people to. But I’m on Facebook just as much. And I have just as much like conversations there on Facebook. And then LinkedIn is another one for me. But it’s a different type of platform.
But then I’m also on YouTube as well. And YouTube is set up more like a search engine. So, like I use that in that manner. But those things, they’re a little bit different. I’m not like, hey, go do all the things everywhere because it confused mind doesn’t buy, right?
We have one thing we’re setting the intention. But we’ve simplified the marketing. So, the messaging is the same across everywhere.
But the calls to actions, the things that we’re doing, we’re keeping it simple. It can repeat, just tweak things to make it work, but only do more of the stuff that’s actually working.
Okay, that’s like my thing here. Okay. The only thing that I want you to make sure you’re doing is emailing your list, right? Email marketing is still one of the best tools that we have. Even if it’s just nurturing keeping people.
Of course, you got to build your email list. And there’s different ways to do that. We can go into that in another episode, if you’d like I can share my personal experiences as well.
Don’t be afraid to email your list at least once a week, twice a week is what I strive for. We created the money moments now. So, if you’re on my list, you’re getting an email from me twice a week, twice a week at least.
Appreciate Your Audience
But your email list continually showing value. Okay, giving them information and appreciating them. Yes, we all want to grow our email list.
By industry standards. I have a small email list. But you know what, I appreciate each and every one of you. And I have a fun little notification that goes off on my phone to appreciate each and every one of you because I know how important it is.
I like I know how busy our email inboxes get and I appreciate the fact that you let me here I appreciate the fact that you are listening or watching if you’re on YouTube, to this podcast is like, there’s a ton of information out there.
So, while we are simplifying our marketing, there is gratitude and appreciation for each person that’s in your realm in your world. And that also magnifies your marketing efforts because you appreciate more of the people that you have. And that like is actually an attraction strategy in and of itself.
But you got to know your numbers like that. You can’t tell me where your last five clients have come from, if you’re not tracking your data and measuring your data. And I think two weeks ago, I talked briefly about the calculator that I’m working on, that’s going to kind of help you with that to see if you’re tracking the right numbers in your business.

Simplify and Repeat
So that’s what I’ve got. We don’t have to be everywhere. Keep doing more of the things that are actually working. Email your list consistently. Appreciate the people that you have. Don’t degrade them.
Like I only had 10 likes on that post. Okay, that was 10 likes. You know, there’s like statistics that show how many, like how many posts people scroll by before they like something. Appreciate what you do have. Don’t get distracted by shiny object syndrome. Knowing your numbers, email your list. Alright, that’s what I’ve got for today.
