Read It! Need To Pay Off Debt?
How can I pay off all of my personal debt in 2020? We’re going to go into a little bit of how to make that possible and some tips that I’ve got for you but before we dive in, I want to make sure that I introduce myself if we’ve never met before. Hi, my name is Aimee Cerka and I’m super excited that you are joining us here today. So let’s dive into the question here.

How can you pay off your personal debt in 2020? Typically when I hear about questions somebody is really motivated and they’re very focused on paying off their debt, which, in theory is a good thing but there’s actually something that’s holding you back there, and I want to make sure that we briefly cover that.
1:03
Really the way to make sure that you can pay off your personal debt in 2020 is to have a plan, like you have to have something, a way that you can actually make that happen right? So you got to have that plan. Now, if you grab the Budgeting For Success Worksheets you get a Debt Payoff Document that walks you through exactly how to do this.

We need to put together a plan so there are a couple of different ways that you can do that.
1:49
You’ve probably heard of a debt snowball or the avalanche. The program that I recommend is kind of a combination, but really Debt Snowball is if we got to pick one or the other Debt Snowball is going to be what I’m going to recommend, but you got to have a plan.
2:04
But more important than having the plan is going to be that mindset shift that I had briefly mentioned there. So what that is, is, if you are focused on paying off your debt, you’re going to be able to eventually you’ll get to pay off your debt and that’s great. But the problem is, is once you’ve paid off your debt…
2:29
What we see because that was your focus for so long, you end up back in debt, again, because that was your focus. Whatever you’re focusing on you’re going to bring into your life, you’re going to attract that energy is also what your mind’s focusing on.
2:45
So when you’re just focused on paying off debt, typically within a couple of years you find yourself back into debt because that was what you were focusing on. So instead of focusing on just paying off your debt. Let’s focus on your net worth overall. How can you improve your net worth? Now part of that is going to be your debt payoff, but it’s not the only thing that you’re working on that you’re going to be working on both sides because your net worth is going to be your assets minus your liabilities. So when you lessen your liabilities by paying off debt that’s going to increase your net worth, but also when you start to save more you’re starting to earn more you grow in your investments, which is going to increase your net worth as well, focusing on your overall net worth number instead of just paying off all your personal debt in 2020, it’s gonna be a huge game-changer for you. And you know what, that’s really it for today, we’re keeping it simple.
